CDs have long been on their way into the circular file. And USB sticks are taking over. In bulk orders, branded USB sticks are nearly free, and in PR agencies they're often used as a compact way to send journalists home from an event with an entire press kit in digital form.
Now, the USB stick is changing the way we do music. And it's further proof that music is really just another digital medium that has moved on from the days of CD and record collections lining the shelves.
The Fratelli's, a [very cool] UK band, have released their latest single on USB, complete with video. The catch? They're not eligible for the charts since it's not a CD. But I doubt that will last long- the charts have already been forced to add download figures to their measurements.
